An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is a type of security device that analyzes data packets and compares them against known signatures. What is knowledge-based detection?

If the events align, the IDS concludes an attack is actually occurring. The suspect graph is constructed by the IDS provider after evaluating and reviewing several attacks on different systems.
